Leather Money
Pieces of leather embossed with an official device have been used as money on several occasions, during the sieges of Faenza and Leiden and in the lsle of Man in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Several towns in Austria and Germany produced leather tokens during and after the First World War.
